Full, moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The bouquet is soft, broad and voluminous with layers of red florals and red berry fruits harmoniously interwoven with red plum and spicy nuances. Medium-bodied, gentle flavours of soft red berry fruits and red florals form a rounded core and palate line. Lacy acidity and supple tannins subtly add to the depth and presence, and the flavours build in richness, revealing attractive spicy oak notes. The positive mouthfeel and textures drive the flavours to a very long, lingering finish. This is a smooth and harmonious red-fruited, spicy Pinot Noir that grows in in richness and texture. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Awatere Valley fruit fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 7 months in 25% new French oak barriques. 17.5+/20 Feb 2013. Raymond Chan, Wine Reviews.
